Our client, an accounting firm, is seeking a Senior Public Accountant / Staff Accountant to manage and assist a group of clients' financial records, as well as to determine and provide advice on filing tax returns and other federal payments in order to help maintain financial health and tax obligations.
The ideal candidate will perform accounting, customer service, and organizational duties such as preparing federal, state, and local tax returns, tax planning, and filing and reviewing the financial books of different individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with groups of clients throughout the year with managing their books, preparation of personal or property tax filing and appeals, etc.
- Consulting and communicating with clients about their income and expenses, personal and corporate accounting documents, and determining processes and requirements for filing their income tax returns
- Act as a liaison between a group of clients and the appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state, and local government entities
- Providing superior service and meaningful contact with clients and gaining their confidence to enhance customer satisfaction
- Provide response to client’s information requests, assessment of financial statements, accounting records and files, and request for audit assistance
- Manage and oversee the month-end and year-end close process by processing balance sheet reconciliations, analysis, and preparing journal entries, etc.
- Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections by preparing and reviewing financial documents, reports, and statements
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of working experience as a Senior Public Accountant, Staff Accountant, or relevant role in accounting in a similar role (CPA is a plus)
- Expertise in a broad range of accounting, tax filing, and legal issues is required
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills are required to process financial reports proficiently, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis
- Superior knowledge of multiple accounting functions and principles, including finance, customer service, accounting and tax preparation and reconciliation, and staff management
- Proficiency with operating spreadsheets and accounting software for AR/PR processing, Bookkeeping software and other AP/AR applications
- Excellent command of English for both verbal and written communication in order to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of external and/or internal clients
- Strong capability to supervise one or more staff assistants as necessary and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a great teamwork attitude
