Our client, an eCommerce company, is looking to hire a Chief Technology Officer with proven experience in managing systems-related operations, such as networks, virtual servers, and computer connectivity functions.
The ideal candidate for this position will take a crucial role in overseeing networks for three sites, providing desktop assistance to at least 1,000 employees, and making sure servers, firewalls, VPNs, and routers are functional.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading computer and network activities in the company by making sure that network, systems, and other technological support systems related to the company are operating.
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting servers, VMServers, switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, software, backups and drivers, as well as configuring user accounts, and others,
- Regularly inspect that all systems and equipment are operating normally, and upgrade or replace network switches, workstations, servers, firewalls, and other hardware as necessary
- Coordinate all possible network problem resolutions with the management and recommend network and server enhancements based on both new industry developments and user needs
- Communicate with hardware and software vendors and technical staff as needed to maintain optimal network functionality and ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems are installed and up to date
Qualifications:
- 5+ years proven work experience as an IT Professional or Chief Technology Officer
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis of computer hardware/software systems, portal devices, and other tech products and software maintenance
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, network installation, data center management, and data governance
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software, virtual Machines, all versions of Windows Server, computer operating systems. AD, group policies, DNS, DHCP, RDServers, file sharing and security and Office365
- Ability to communicate clearly all system upgrades, errors, or troubleshooting with individual computer users on all levels – in small groups, one on one, both in English written and verbal manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide step-by-step technical help to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
